As a Veteran of the Viet Nam era, I enjoy 2 areas afforded me in The American Legion. First as a Legionnaire and also being a motorcycle rider, as a member of its American Legion Riders!

This past weekend, the Legion Riders of various posts were invited by the UAW Local 588 out of Illinois to volunteer with the Vets Day X annual BBQ. This day is afforded all the residents of Manteno, Illinois Veterans Home.

This event is looked forward to by the administrators of the home as well as its residents. For any of you that have never donated your time and heart to a day, this is one of the finest ways you could do it.

As a vet in the legion, I do many functions including Color Guard and Honor Guard at our soldiers ( old and young ) burials . Rarely do I get the honor to do as I did at Vets Day X of partnering with an old soldier for a day that means the world to them. It is as heart wrenching as it is enjoyable and I would not have missed it for the world!

One such website was Corrupt Politics. The Domain Name was offered up to anyone that chose to take it over….no one did! If anyone posting on that site is interested in owning the domain name and able to provide hosting for it, I would be happy to turn the ownership over to them. I am not selling the name, simply giving it away. I offer this only to those that were using the site. I do have a back up copy of the website in storage. For now, the name is parked and pointing toward Cold Sweat-Chicago.

As most of you that did change hosting may now realize….it really is not the same on a large host. Your sites load slower, there is much in the line of spam that reaches your mailbox and you no longer have the personal experience that you enjoyed before. I know I miss the dedicated servers that we had here….the “Sweat Site” now loads much slower and the junk mail is terrible. I now get 4 times the amount of mail, most of it junk and have 1/4 of the email accounts that I had. It almost seems as though millions of junk mail domains just started up.

Most of you will now need to learn how your site works or pay someone to fix and upgrade your web site. Don’t be afraid to jump in and learn. It is not that tough and will do you some good.

If you can type a sentence on notepad you can work WordPress. There are but few tricks to using it & one of them is knowing where you place an image, pdf form or such on your own computer.  WordPress will upload these to where it needs and place it where you want, no knowledge needed!

For those of you that have never done it, it is time you do. You all should know how to work & repair your sites! At the mid point of June, you will be responsible for all of it and on your own unless you get a friend to do it or hire someone.

While I don’t mind doing a favor at times, I will no longer maintain your site for you as I have done in the past. So, get used to your sites and go into the admin area once a week or so to update all pluggins and WordPress itself. All that you need do there at this point is click the upgrade button and WordPress will do the rest. The other thing is….do your backups as I will not be there to do them for you. Even with my hosting you were responsible for that but I didn’t press it. Your new host will. They may keep a backup for emergency but it more than likely will not be a current one and your newer work can be lost.

It is also nice to have lost a customer during this move by mistakes. That one customer however wasn’t happy as instead of fixing his site for a month, I decided that I would just refund his cash & did just that.

It’s funny that a person can have a hosted account with you, never lift a finger on the site even to build it and gets hacked regularly enough that I would have to fix it & get rid of the malware & bad code and could not pay his bill on time but can complain that I was “Very Unprofessional” as I terminated his account!

In fact this person, whom I will not divulge his full name just yet ( He is a Professional & well known Photographer in Chicago and a Jazz Guitarist) accused me & my software numerous times of being screwed up because it would not accept his no good credit card numbers and after 10 to 15 days late, he had a late charge tacked onto his bill.

This move just for the sake of ridding myself of him seems worth it! While I always liked the guy, and bent over backwards to suit his needs, never did he once say thanks for the time I invested into a site he never even visited himself let alone type a single word in or upload a picture to.

At one point I had to straighten out his mess with Domain Names as he didn’t pay his bill and the Registrar took it from him. At that point I finally after weeks got the domain name under my registration, but that also is soon to change once I work that situation out.

To this fine upstanding “Very Professional” person I just have one thing to say….I don’t think other hosting companies are going to put up with you! Good Luck Tony , hope you did your job for a change and did a backup or 2. You…..are no longer on my accounts list!

As most of you know, Cold Sweat-Chicago was originally designed around the entertainment industry. Music in particular. We also had a website hosting business incorporated into it. This will no longer be a fact due to new tax laws within Indiana and the banking crisis which has created havoc in most of our lives. So we therefore will no longer do business in any state but will retain our Limited Liability Corporation status with The State of Delaware.

Cold Sweat-Chicago has made the decision to cancel out our servers for hosting and obtained a reseller account for a month or so to allow clients to move their hosting elsewhere.

While in this move, though a few sites were lost and irretrievable, the bulk were successfully transferred to the temporary hosting service.

To those of you that did not survive this move, I am sorry and a refund has been placed into your respective accounts on record with us. Until, we finally close the books here, our support will be available to all clients. Just simply login to our Billing/Support in the Client Login box. Once closed in Mid-June we will no longer supply any support for any reason.

It has been quite a ride with this venture the last few years. If and when Cold Sweat-Chicago LLC does return with an open for business sign, it will only return to an industry as it was designed for with the exception of having a restaurant/bar situation containing the live music.

I thank you all for using our services through the years and will try to assist you in any way that I can to make this easier on you.
